Namun di GP Republik Ceko akhir pekan ini, Rossi berharap bisa tampil lebih baik. Setelah itu, mereka akan pergi ke Misano dengan harapan yang lebih besar lagi untuk bisa memangkas gap dengan para pebalap di depan.

Rossi pun menepis anggapan bahwa dia sudah setengah hati membantu Ducati, setelah sepakat mengikat kontrak berdurasi dua tahun dengan Yamaha. Peraih sembilan gelar juara dunia grand prix ini menegaskan bahwa komitmennya bersama tim Italia tersebut tidak berubah.

"Tak mengubah apapun. Sayang sekali, sudah sangat sulit sejak balapan pertama di Qatar, sehingga sulit menjanjikan untuk melakukan sesuatu yang penting. Tentu saja kami mencoba, karena masih ada tujuh balapan tersisa dan mungkin kami akan mendapatkan kesempatan melakukan yang lebih baik," jelasnya.

Peraih medali lainnya di Olimpiade yang hadir di ibukota Hungaria itu adalah atlet Amerika Jason Richardson, yang menyabet medali perak lari gawang 110 meter di London. Dia pun menang dengan catatan waktu 13,15 detik.

Kompatriot Richardson, Sanya-Richards-Ross, juara Olimpiade untuk nomor 400 meter, memutuskan untuk turun di nomor 200 meter. Meskipun demikian dia berhasil unggul dengan catatan 22,70 detik.

KOMPAS.com — Ben Spies menolak untuk menjelaskan hubungan tak sedap antara dirinya dan sosok tertentu di dalam tim Yamaha. Padahal, saat GP Amerika Serikat di Laguna Seca akhir bulan lalu, dia sempat membeberkan bagaimana tensi di tubuh tim "Garpu Tala" itu.

Di Laguna Seca, juara dunia World Superbike 2009 ini mengonfirmasi lewat Twitter bahwa dia meninggalkan tim Jepang tersebut pada akhir musim 2012 ini. Tetapi, dalam kesempatan itu, Spies juga mengatakan bahwa dirinya diberitahu oleh seseorang berlevel tinggi di tim bahwa lebih baik tidak usah ke GP Amerika Serikat jika tidak melakukan persiapan 100 persen.

Komentar bernada ancaman itu datang setelah Spies kembali mengalami nasib sial di Indianapolis akibat kegagalan mesin. Padahal, dia sedang bertarung di barisan terdepan dengan pebalap Repsol Honda, Dani Pedrosa, yang memenangkan balapan 28 lap tersebut. Ini adalah kegagalan kedua di tanah kelahirannya, setelah di Laguna Seca pun dia gagal melanjutkan lomba lantaran lengan ayun YZR-M1 tunggangannya patah.

"Saya diberitahu oleh seseorang di Yamaha bahwa jika tidak membalap 100 persen di Laguna (Seca), maka tidak usah tampil. Saya datang ke Laguna, dan berusaha semampu saya untuk melakukan yang terbaik," ujar Spies dalam sebuah wawancara yang dirilis Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

"Motor mengalami kegagalan. Kemudian kami datang ke sini dengan 100 persen dan melakukan yang terbaik lagi, dan kami kembali mengalami masalah mekanik pada motor. Saya sudah memberikan 100 persen."

"Saya tidak akan menyebut sejumlah nama, tetapi ya, dia adalah seorang dengan level tinggi."

Ditanya tentang rasa frustrasinya lantaran selalu dihinggapi nasib sial selama musim ini, Spies menjawab, "Tentu frustrasi, tetapi apa yang terjadi membuat saya tertawa. Saya sama sekali tidak marah."

"Terjadi banyak hal, satu setelah yang lain. Anda tidak tahu bagaimana meresponsnya. Jadi, apa yang dikatakan setelah Mugello dan apa yang terjadi, serta kemudian usaha yang sudah saya lakukan dalam dua akhir pekan terakhir, saya pikir tidak terlalu fair."

Namun, dalam wawancara yang sama, Spies tak ragu jika kru Yamaha tetap berada di belakangnya.

"Saya tahu tim saya, juga kru. Itu sudah diperlihatkan," jelas Spies ketika menjawab bahwa Yamaha di belakangnya 100 persen. "Motor bagus dalam dua akhir pekan terakhir. Saya hanya tidak respek dengan apa yang dikatakan kepada saya, dan apa yang sudah kami coba lakukan tahun ini."

"Saya sama sekali tidak mengatakan bahwa itu kesalahan Yamaha. Ini juga hanyalah ketidakberuntungan. Mengapa itu terjadi pada saya, saya tidak tahu."

Pada Senin (20/8/2012) malam, Spies kembali mengungkapkan di Twitter mengenai pandangan itu. Dia juga menepis spekulasi bahwa komentarnya tersebut ditujukan kepada bos racing Yamaha, Lin Jarvis.

"Saya membuat sebuah pernyataan akhir pekan ini tentang sejumlah ketegangan di tim kami dan apa yang orang katakan kepada saya. Orang selalu mengisi ruang dengan omong kosong," ujar Spies melalui akun Twitter-nya.

"Saya memiliki banyak orang di belakang saya, termasuk bos saya tuan Jarvis, yang mana sudah berada di belakang saya sepanjang waktu dia menginginkan Jorge dan saya di Yamaha."

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Gubernur Sumatera Selatan Alex Noerdin menyatakan, daerahnya siap mengambil alih status dan posisi Provinsi Riau sebagai tuan rumah Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) XVIII jika venues cabang-cabang olahraga di daerah Riau belum semuanya rampung dan siap.

Sumatera Selatan yang baru saja sukses menghelat SEA Games 2011 tidak keberatan bila pemerintah pusat menunjuknya sebagai pelaksana ajang olahraga empat tahunan tersebut.

Ditemui di Bandar Udara Soekarno-Hatta, Cengkareng, Selasa (21/8/2012) siang, Alex mengaku sedikit egregetan mendengar kabar tentang belum rampungnya semua venues di Riau. Padahal, pelaksanaan multievent itu tinggal menghitung hari, yakni 9-20 September 2012.

"Jika PON dipaksakan dalam kondisi venues yang tidak siap dan tidak bertaraf internasional, sama saja kita membuang-buang biaya. Ingat, kita baru saja menyaksikan olimpiade di London, betapa prestasi olahraga mensyaratkan sarana kompetisi yang memadai," ujarnya.

Ia menilai, yang paling siap dari segi infrastruktur untuk PON saat ini adalah dua daerah, yakni DKI Jakarta dan Sumatera Selatan. "Berhubung DKI sedang sibuk untuk pilkada, ya Sumsel-lah yang lebih siap," ujar Alex.

Ia menegaskan, selain dari segi infrastruktur, Sumsel juga paling siap dari segi sumber daya manusia. Kepanitiaan yang baru saja mengurusi SEA Games siap diaktifkan kembali hanya dalam hitungan beberapa hari mendatang.

Ia menambahkan, diperlukan kecermatan, obyektivitas, dan perhitungan yang realistis dari semua pihak, terutama pemerintah pusat, terhadap tujuan pelaksanaan PON dan kondisi sarana dan prasarana di lapangan. "Mau formalitas atau kualitas?" katanya dalam nada tanya.

Tindakan tersebut dinilai penting untuk memumpuk rasa kebersamaan dan kekompakan dalam tim sehingga mampu memecahkan permasalahan dengan baik. Masalah kebersamaan penting ditanamkan dalam tim olahraga, kata dia.

Para atlet ditanamkan mental juara dalam setiap pertandingan sehingga dalam bertanding tidak lagi menjadi beban, jadi sebelum turun di arena PON nanti maka pada pemusatan latihan diawali penggemblengan mantal maupun fisik. Masalah disiplin di kalangan atlet maupun pelatih harus tetap terbina dengan baik, maka pengawasan dilakukan oleh tim KONI Bali.

Gubernur Bali tampak kagum ketika menyaksikan atlet PON setempat melakukan atraksi pencak silat hasil gemblengan para pelatih yang nantinya akan bertanding melawan rekannya di arena PON Riau.

Atlet pencak silat PON Bali ini pernah keliling dunia memperkenalkan seni bela diri Indonesia ke mancanegara seperti ke Eropa, Amerika serikat. Diharapkan, Pencak Silat bisa menyumbang medali pada PON mendatang.

"Khusus untuk sepuluh besar peringkat dunia akan diberikan keringanan biaya akomodasi," katanya.

Sebanyak 500 hingga 700 pebulutangkis dari 20 negara diprediksi ambil bagian pada kejuaraan yang bakal digelar di Palembang Sport Convention Center. Menurut dia, panitia pelaksana masih merembukkan dengan segenap pihak terkait mengenai harga tiket masuk.

"Penonton tidak akan kecewa meski membayar. Selain menyaksikan atlet kelas dunia, juga mendapatkan sajian hiburan dari band asal ibu kota seperti d’massiv," ujarnya.

Pertandingan itu juga disiarkan secara langsung oleh salah satu televisi swasta nasional.
